The Works of Alan MooreThis is a featured page

Alan Moore (right) with Neil GaimanAlan Moore

One of the most celebrated writers of the comic book medium, Alan Moore has had a profound influence on both his contemporaries and successors alike. Blending such postmodern tropes as metafiction, stream of consciousness, and deconstruction with stories that question the nature of identity, reality, and the moral dilemma of humanity, Moore is considered one of the pinnacle figures in elevating the medium to a level that demands serious literary attention. Many of the works he has collaborated on are considered seminal, in particular V for Vendetta, Miracleman, his run on DC Comic's Swamp Thing, From Hell, and (perhaps most famously) Watchmen, not just for their exemplary storytelling but also for the level of artistic commitment, detail, and innovation contained within their pages.

The works of Alan Moore are quite popular on Ultimate Central among many of its regular posters and are regularly discussed as well as recommended not just to new site members or those fresh to the comic book medium, but to any individual interested in literary art in general.
