Also occurring during the absence of Bass, the Cult of Bass formed to watch the skies, waiting for Him to return. Some members sided with the Cult, others against it. moonmaster penned the first version of the Word of Bass

Gather 'round yon children and hear tale
Of our Lord Bass and his great works.
On the second day of the Feast of Helifous,
Lord Bass was gazing upon the stars
When he was struck by some divine knowledge
And beckoned for one of his Apostles.

"Thou shalt visit upon the townsfolk and
Deliver them thy word which I shall give you in haste.
Thou shalt listen intently and move swiftly,
Once there upon the Green Road to Centrusulaus.
Here is my word in full, listen to it:

"I have gazed on the great and many constellations
And reviewed my Library and it is quite apparent
That a wicked malevolence has gone by unnoticed
For many, many months!
His presence has been felt in the back grounds of all of our lives!
He twists the world to his whims
And fools the weak minded.
He is mischievous and must be feared.
Thus is my Manifesto and thus is thy message.
Carry it with you and be gone!"

The people of the city heard the Lord's Manifesto
And obeyed his solemn words.
The Moon carried out its cycle many times
And in due time the Lord Bass's prophecies became true.
The Lord of Mischief of which he spoke was exposed
And punished duly.
