Mavericker was an interesting character. And by character, we mean possibly a robot.
Having quite the religious streak, Mavericker often quoted the bible in response to what he would call "morally objectionable" content. This was hypocritical in nature since he often stated that he found Hawkgirl and other odd looking female characters hot.
In addition, Mavericker often asked questions that he would answer minutes later with a hyperlink answering said question, presumably from a Google search. When his questions could not elicit a response from other members, he would re-iterate the question. Even if someone answered his question, he would ask a new question, frequently about information that was covered in the first response. This kind of behavior led to frequent remarks from others that he was actually a bot. Mavericker also created several threads concerning odd ideas (such as "Should Batman have the ability to fly?").
Mavericker was also a virtuoso writer, managing to juggle a number of projects at once. These include:
- The Jade Cricket, a classic superhero origin of a man who lost everything that mattered to him in his life - his cricket. What sort of sins could such a tragedy drive a man to? Apparently dressing up like his dead bait and kicking heads.
- An epic tale of revenge, betrayal, and kung-fu that combines elements of acclaimed film "Street Fighter" with the Emmy-winning "Cats and Dogs" and "Heathcliff".
- A project, still in its embryonic stages before Mavericker's departure, was planned to deal with the cut-throat world of professional lumberjack vigilantes.... or maybe vigilante lumberjacks.
Joe Kalicki and Marvelman tried to bring the "Street Fighting Cats and Dogs" project to fruition after Mavericker's ban, but it never saw the light of day (mainly due to Marvelman's slacker tendencies). The lumberjack project, entitled "Bunyan Max!" has been picked up by Chuck Austen's Wild & Wooly Press. It's now about boobs.
